Getting to know Ryan Ward

Mr. Ryan Ward is a certified psychotherapist at Compassionate Care Counseling in Timonium, MD. He holds a Master's degree in Clinical Professional Counseling from Loyola University Maryland. Accepting new clients both in-person and virtually, Ryan has worked with teens and adults to help alleviate symptoms of trauma, anxiety, and depression. He uses a trauma-informed approach, understanding that every person is unique and tailoring his work to fit individual needs. Ryan employs several therapies to support clients struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma. One of these is EMDR, a process that can help retrain the body's responses to traumatic memories. He also uses Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy to address the parts of the self that hold us back in life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Ryan is a compassionate person that is approachable and kind. Ryan will work together with you in a warm and safe environment, so you feel comfortable. He works to develop a trusting relationship so you will be able to work on feelings of uncertainty, feelings of being overwhelmed and feeling alone. Using evidenced based therapy, he will work together with you to develop inner peace. He will focus on what you need to be happy and confident. Ryan will work with you to develop your goals and will discuss how you will work to achieve those goals. Ryan will work with you so you can develop strong tools for you to have outside of therapy to manage stress.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Ryan will meet with a client for the initial session and work with that client to understand what the client desires from therapy. Ryan loves the ability to work together with people to find balance and hope again in their lives. He understands how hard it can be to ask for and get help. His goal is to give you that path to help and do it with compassion and care.
