Getting to know Ryan Watters

I aim to meet every client where they are, regardless of their circumstances. I work with people who struggle with substance use, depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship issues, or any other challenges presenting in their lives. My approach is to help you understand and identify the factors causing difficulties while simultaneously eliciting the motivation that already lies within you to make the necessary changes. I have experience in grief and loss counseling, and as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), my primary expertise is in substance use. I work from a harm reduction framework, supporting clients in achieving their personal goals-whether that means total abstinence, moderation, or choosing to use some substances while abstaining from others. The primary therapeutic modality I use is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), though I also incorporate skills and theories from Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Narrative Therapy. I tailor my approach to each client, believing that everyone has a unique set of strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences. I hold a Master's in Social Work from The University of Chicago and a Bachelor's degree from Cornell University, which have both shaped my commitment to compassionate, individualized care.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
