Getting to know Sabeen Bhimani

You completed substance abuse treatment with commitment doing everything required. Yet even after treatment, you may still face cultural or social stigma. You might feel exposed continuing therapy after rehab, especially when others expect you to be “fixed,” or if no one in your family has struggled with substance use. Without the structure, routine, and accountability of IOP, maintaining recovery stability can feel unsteady like walking without a brace. There is pride in how far you’ve come, but also a quiet fear of relapse, a sense of waiting for the other shoe to drop, and the pressure of sustaining long-term sobriety on your own. This is where recovery support becomes essential not just to stay sober, but to build a life that feels grounded and meaningful. Recovery deserves transformation, not just maintenance. Together, we focus on relapse prevention, strengthening emotional sobriety, and building a sustainable foundation for ongoing recovery. We will deepen self-worth, create inner stability, support wounded parts, challenge fear-based thinking, and reduce reactive patterns that can lead back to old cycles. If you’re ready to move beyond simply trying to stay sober and want to feel more anchored in your identity and purpose, therapy can help you integrate this phase with clarity. I combine clinical insight with mindfulness, spirituality, and a multicultural lens that honors your background. You don’t have to navigate life after addiction alone. Reach out to book a free 15-minute consultation and receive a same-day reply.

What should a new client know about working with you?

For many people leaving IOP, the structure was supporting more than they realized it provided routine, recovery accountability, and a sense of identity in early addiction aftercare. In our work together, we identify what that structure was truly providing and begin rebuilding it internally. The goal is to help you maintain recovery stability and avoid relapse without needing to rely on a program to hold everything in place. This is about strengthening your internal foundation so long-term sobriety feels sustainable, not fragile.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work is collaborative from the start. You are the expert of your life, and I provide clinical guidance to support lasting recovery and emotional stability in sobriety. We begin by creating an individualized plan focused on your goals for ongoing recovery and relapse prevention. Together, we build practical skills such as craving management, trigger coping, and developing a consistent sober routine that supports your day-to-day life. As you strengthen these skills and build confidence in long-term sobriety, our focus shifts from learning to living. Recovery is not just about tools—it’s about integration. Like learning to drive, we move from understanding the mechanics to navigating life with steadiness and confidence. We also work on strengthening your identity in life after addiction, supporting growth across emotional, relational, vocational, and spiritual domains so you’re not just maintaining sobriety, but fully engaging in your life. Therapy provides a grounded space for mindfulness in recovery, self-reflection, and honest processing. A key part of relapse prevention therapy is recognizing early signs of imbalance—emotionally, mentally, or spiritually and addressing them before they escalate. Together, we build recovery accountability, purpose, and resilience so you can continue moving forward with clarity and confidence. My role is to support you in creating a life where staying sober feels aligned, stable, and sustainable.
