Sabeen Bhimani, LMSW, MPH

Psychotherapist
121 Perimeter Ctr W, Atlanta, GA
You completed treatment with commitment doing everything required. Yet you may still face cultural or social stigma, whether you’re new to seeking help or feeling exposed continuing therapy when others expect you to be fixed especially if no one else in your family has struggled with substance use. Without the schedules, groups, and daily accountability of IOP, life can feel unsteady—like walking without a brace. There is pride in how far you’ve come, but also a quiet fear of maintaining it, a sense of waiting for the other shoe to drop, and an underlying worry that one hard day could undo your progress. Recovery deserves transformation—not just maintenance. Together, we strengthen your self-worth, build inner stability, support wounded younger parts, challenge fear-based thoughts, reduce reactive suffering, soften the inner critic, and reinforce the external supports that make long-term sobriety possible. If you’re ready to move beyond simply maintaining sobriety, therapy can help you integrate this phase with clarity. I combine clinical insight with spirituality, mindfulness, and a multicultural lens that honors your unique background. You don’t have to navigate this alone. What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach blends clinical expertise with mindfulness and a grounded spiritual lens to support lasting, meaningful change. You do not have to navigate this stage alone — recovery is a shared process. I believe people who struggle with substance use are often highly intuitive, insightful, and resilient individuals who have lost sight of their strengths beneath layers of pain and survival patterns. My role is to help you uncover those strengths, shed the false identities shaped by substance use, and reconnect with your genuine self. With years of experience supporting clients in 30–90 day programs, I bring both compassion and expertise to help you deepen your foundation for lifelong recovery.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We will collaborate every step of the way. You are the expert on your life and lived experiences; my role is to provide clinical insight and therapeutic guidance to help you achieve lasting recovery and stability. We begin by creating an individualized treatment plan and identifying meaningful goals. Together, we focus on practical, hands-on skills to help you navigate life in sobriety. You have an active voice in choosing the interventions you want to explore, ensuring our work reflects your values, strengths, and vision for your future. As you gain knowledge, strengthen skills, and build time in authentic sobriety, our focus shifts from learning to living. Recovery is not just about acquiring tools—it is about integrating them into daily life. Like learning to drive a car, you may understand how it works; together, we practice driving it with confidence and steadiness. This includes strengthening all areas of your life—emotional, relational, vocational, and spiritual—so you are not simply abstaining, but truly thriving. I provide support as you cultivate balance and growth across these domains. Our therapeutic space also offers an opportunity to deepen mindfulness and self-awareness. I serve as a grounded, reflective presence where you can safely explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment. A key aspect of sustainable recovery is recognizing when you are off center—mind, body, or spirit—and having a safe space to process those experiences before they lead back to old patterns. Together, we will establish clear, S.M.A.R.T. goals while fostering accountability, purpose, and emotional intelligence. My commitment is to walk alongside you as you rediscover your strengths, clarify your path, and move forward with resilience, intention, and confidence.
