Getting to know Sade Stokes

I am not going to lie to you, therapy is hard work. The work we do together could get intense and I will hold you accountable but in a supportive and empathetic way. From the first meeting, we set expectations and clarify what you want from treatment. I will challenge you, be patient, direct, and warm while providing structure and emotional presence. I'm not a passive listener who'll just nod and repeat to you what you have just said. I ask questions, reflect patterns, teach skills, and collaborate with you to create real change in your life. I have helped many people reach their goals, and I would like to help you do the same. I know my approach is not for everyone. However, if you are looking for a therapist who will push you to get to the root of your struggles while supporting you along the way, I am the therapist for you. I take this work seriously and respect the time, money, and effort clients invest in this process. We will work hard, you will learn, and you will grow. This is my life’s work.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients who tend to benefit most from working with me are open to reflection, curious about their inner experiences, and willing to engage in the process over time. Progress often comes from consistency, self-awareness, and learning to respond differently rather than seeking immediate solutions. If you are looking for a supportive space to slow down, understand yourself more clearly, and build steadier ways of coping and relating, this work may be a good fit.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session focuses on understanding what brings you to therapy and what you are hoping for from the process. We talk through current concerns, relevant background, and any immediate needs, while also making space to ask questions and ensure therapy feels like a good fit. Ongoing sessions are collaborative and conversational. We may explore emotions, patterns, and experiences that are showing up in your life, while also working on practical skills related to coping, communication, boundaries, or emotional regulation when helpful. Sessions are guided by your goals and what feels most relevant in the moment, with attention to both insight and application. Throughout our work together, we periodically check in on progress and adjust focus as needed. Therapy is not rushed or formulaic, and there is flexibility in how sessions unfold. The overall goal is to help you develop greater self-awareness, steadier coping strategies, and a clearer understanding of yourself over time.

The first therapist I’ve had that holds e accountable and help me move forward in my healing process
Sade is amazing! She is personable, professional, and consistently helps me get to the depth of the issues we discuss in a meaningful way. Her response time is always quick, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and effective therapist.
I am sooo grateful for Sadè. She is very supportive, understanding, and very easy to talk to. She creates a safe space that I never feel judged but feel like she’s really listening to me while still challenging me to grow. She’s 10/10 !
Sade has a bedside manner that is personable, relatable yet knowledgeable. She creates a safe space to share my experience in a nonjudgmental, supportive, yet mindful and accountable space. Challenges me to reframe certain believes and provides tools and resources to help me inspect 'understandings'.
There are therapists who offer fluff, and then there are therapists who help you grow by sharing honest insights in ways you’re truly able to hear. Sade has that rare ability to speak truth with kindness, never harsh, always open and supportive. She helps me understand my emotions, shift to healthier mindsets, and approach challenges with clearer problem-solving skills. I never feel judged in our sessions, and I always leave feeling at ease and understood.
I've worked with Sade for the past few years. She has supported me with my anxiety and helped with a lot of general life navigation. She has been an extremely impactful part of my growth journey. Sade brings a warmth and ease to each session that makes it easy to open up and discuss difficult topics. She is personable, relatable, queer-affirming, and deeply insightful. She is great at identifying patterns and perspectives that I might not have recognized on my own and has been great at helping me to grow as a person.
Sadé is a wonderful therapist who creates a safe, judgment-free space to truly be heard. She gently challenges you to look within and embrace your most authentic self. Her guidance encourages accountability, helping you recognize and shift irrational thought patterns and unhelpful behaviors in a supportive and empowering way.
Sadé is the best therapist I’ve ever had. For the last 2 years we have been doing hard work to work through my trauma and she is patient, understanding and she cares! I love My therapist!!!!
Over the past year my sessions with Sade have helped to lay down the foundation for navigating some of life’s toughest challenges that usually come up. She has provided me with needed tools and resources that have helped me in such tremendous ways that I can’t wait for our sessions to let her know, how much of her being a part of my life has been so transformative. She is absolutely the best.
My sessions are always great. I always leave the session feeling better and more equipped to handle things in my life. She recommends great books(because I love to read) and practice skills to help me navigate. She help me learn to set boundaries and become more emotionally intelligent.
Sade is an outstanding therapist in every sense. She is exceptionally intelligent, thoughtful, and deeply compassionate. From our first session, she created a space that felt safe, supportive, and genuinely understanding. I ALWAYS leave sessions feeling clearer, more grounded, and truly cared for. I’m so grateful to be working with her and would recommend her without hesitation!
Working with Sade was my first experience with therapy and she made the process so seamless. At first, I felt nervous however, she made our sessions feel so comfortable and I was able to let my guard down and be vulnerable. Sade is very kind, patient, smart, and logical. I will forever be grateful for our sessions as her guidance has helped me make drastic improvements in my life.
I’ve been seeing Sadè for going on 2 years now. Ive had a couple therapist through EAP but I went to look for my own therapist. I have grown so much in understanding relationships around me. It’s one thing to maintain your physical Health but maintaining your mental health is something that I definitely appreciate and recommend. I have recommend Sadè to friends and family and I’ll continue to recommend her forever.
Seeing Sadè is always a pleasure. I know this is her job, but when I talk with her, I genuinely feel heard. She’s always able to offer me resources and tools that I can use in my life that genuinely helps me, and she’s always trying to dig deeper with me on certain topics that we discuss. Sadè is very knowledgeable, empathetic (even when I’m wrong), and I really feel that she really cares about my well-being. Before I found a therapist, I always had anxiety about getting stuck with a bad therapist or someone who didn’t make me feel heard. I feel super grateful and lucky to find such a therapist.
