Sali Zurikat, LMFT

Psychotherapist
1125 Raintree Cir, Ste 180, Allen, TX
Over the last ten years, I have traveled extensively, supporting and encouraging people from diverse cultures and backgrounds to find rest and stability. Through these experiences, I have gained deep insights into human nature and myself. Time and again, I have witnessed individuals rise from despair and pain to build more fulfilling lives. Regardless of who you are or what makes you unique, I would be honored to accompany you on this journey. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University, a Life Coaching certification from the New York Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Juba. My professional experience spans non-profit organizations, domestic violence settings, outpatient clinics, and church counseling centers. I have worked with individuals, teenagers, couples, and families on issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. I have helped couples restore their marriages and develop effective tools to engage with their children, fostering healthier relationships. I also enjoy providing premarital counseling. Outside of work, I cherish time with my family and friends. I have a beautiful cat and a lovely Goldendoodle. I love reading, traveling, meeting new people, and exploring different cuisines—so if you have a good recipe, please share it with me! I speak fluent Arabic and enjoy learning about other cultures. My Approach While good answers and effective tools are important in therapy, I believe the heart of the process lies in journeying with you through pain and fatigue toward healing and contentment. The only way out is through, and I want to walk that path with you, step by step. I am a firm believer that God created us in His image, and living a healthier, stable life is part of His design. Our ability to recover and move forward stems from this truth.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I don't like surprises, and if you are like me then you want to know what to expect. So, I'll walk you through the process: During our 15 minute free consultation, I'll hear from you why you're seeking counseling. Based on your needs, I will explain briefly what we'll be doing together. Of course, you will have the time to ask any question. At the end of the phone call, we'll schedule your initial session. Some paperwork will be required before you come to the initial session. What will happen during the initial session? Bring in with you whatever you need to feel comfortable - your Starbucks coffee, your sweater, etc. We'll go through the paperwork. We probably won't be able to get into the nitty gritty stuff during our first session - remember, counseling is a process and I would love for you to feel as comfortable as possible. That being said, our initial session is to get to know you! How long is each session? Well, it depends. For individual counseling session its 50 minutes. For couples counseling its 60 minutes, and For EMDR its 60 minutes. How long will I be in counseling? Each person is different, so it varies depending on the needs and treatment plan. Counseling is not a destination, its a process. Who do you serve? I work with Adults. I also see couples for premarital counseling and marriage counseling. I also provide counseling in Arabic.
