Getting to know Salman Hafeez

Hello, and welcome to my bio. Many therapists treat or manage symptoms - worry, sadness, anger, etc. - an approach that works for many people, but in a way that often provides temporary relief. As a holistic therapist, I focus more on the underlying factors - the things that motivate or influence the symptoms that people experience. I work with people who want to explore why they do the things they do and want to be more intentional and thoughtful in their decision-making, behavior, and relationships. I concentrate on developing a therapeutic relationship and cultivating a safe environment where the clients can share freely. I am a fan of emphasizing strengths and I follow a client-centered approach to counseling. I view therapy as a collaborative process, and I am committed to working hard toward achieving therapeutic goals. Finally, though I am a generalist, I have extensive experience treating anxiety disorders, mood disorders, relational issues, and substance use disorders. I look at the human experience as a series of developmental challenges that sometimes need outside assistance in gaining mastery and in overcoming hurdles. It is all part of this beautiful tapestry called "life". Welcome, again, and I'm listening!
