TX
As the owner and psychotherapist of Allison Evans Counseling and Consulting, I, Samantha Allison-Evans, use my love for the field and my licensure (License #74956) as a mental health therapist, to empower my clients towards reaching their full potential. With an academic background, comprising a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Henderson State University, and a Masters in Counseling with an emphasis on Rehabilitation Counseling/Mental Health from the University of Arkansas, I have been working as a Licensed Professional Counselor for the past nine years. My 18 years in the field have seen me work for a Government Agency, several psychiatric facilities, and handle an array of roles ranging from Inpatient therapist and Intake Clinician, to Crisis therapist, Behavioral Specialist, and Case Manager. My work with clients aged 5 to 70 years has encompassed behavioral and personality disorders, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Grief, and Marriage and Family issues. In each of my therapy sessions, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). These evidence-based strategies aid in identifying disruptive or disturbing thought patterns and developing solutions, as opposed to focusing solely on the problems. As a DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) specialist, I concentrate on balancing emotion regulation, reality-testing, distress tolerance, acceptance, and mindful awareness, which are largely derived from meditative practices, to treat personality disorders, mood disorders, and interpersonal conflicts. Each session with me aims at achieving emotional stability and improved mental health, using a personalised and compassionate approach. Whether dealing with intense emotional challenges or looking to modify destructive behavior patterns, I treat every client as unique and believe in their potential to change the trajectory of their circumstances.
