Getting to know Samantha Arreola

Most clients come to me after experiencing unhealthy romantic relationships that left them feeling disconnected from who they are and filled with self-doubt. I also work with people who have strained relationships with their parents and want to heal old wounds so they can step into the version of themselves they’ve always wanted to be. In our work together, I provide education on how your past experiences have shaped the way you see yourself and how you navigate relationships. You’ll learn practical skills to manage anxiety and depression, as well as tools for handling emotions in a way that makes you feel proud. This includes learning to identify your feelings and express your needs in healthy, empowering ways. Together, we’ll also work toward the personal goals you set for yourself. Many of my clients leave therapy feeling more confident, able to set boundaries without guilt, and more grounded in who they are. They often share that they handle stress with greater ease, experience improved relationships, and feel a deeper sense of peace. My goal is to create a space where you can truly know yourself and unapologetically build the life you are meant to live. More than just my work: My favorite quote: “You attract and manifest whatever corresponds to your inner state,” by Eckhart Tolle. What brings you a sense of ease? I try and practice breathwork every night, which gives me a natural high and makes me feel at ease. I also enjoy lying out at the beach, being in the sun, and reading a good book. What do you enjoy outside of work? I enjoy traveling, finding good food spots, salsa dancing, live music, trying new adventurous things, and being in nature.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I do more than just surface-level work. I want to get to the root of the issue so you can have lasting change in your relationships, feel more secure in yourself, and accomplish your goals. However, I always go at a pace that feels comfortable to you, and I always make sure you have the skills to manage any emotions that come up. I have been told I have a calm demeanor and bring a very real, laid-back, and human approach that helps my clients appreciate. My specialties: Internal Family Systems (IFS) Brainspotting Trauma and PTSD Complex trauma and childhood trauma Attachment and relationship patterns Somatic and mind-body approaches Culturally responsive and affirming care I don't believe in using the same approach with every client. I draw from my training to understand what you need and tailor therapy to you. Sometimes that means learning practical tools to manage anxiety, emotions, or relationship challenges in the present. Other times, it means looking deeper at where certain beliefs and patterns came from and working through the experiences that may still be affecting you today.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We’ll start with an assessment where I’ll get to know you and learn more about what’s bringing you to therapy. From there, we’ll set goals together and talk, in your own words, about what you’d like to get out of therapy. We’ll typically meet weekly at first and work toward those goals together. I’ll also provide practical tools to help you manage things like anxiety, depression, stress, and overwhelming emotions, so you can start building skills that help you feel better and more in control in your everyday life. As you make progress and begin meeting your treatment goals, we can talk about moving to biweekly sessions. Eventually, when you feel confident in the progress you’ve made and no longer feel like you need therapy, we’ll work toward ending therapy together. Therapy is a collaborative process. I’m always open to hearing what feels helpful, what doesn’t, and what you’d like to do differently. This is your space, and I want our work together to feel supportive and useful to you.
