Getting to know Samantha Garrett

I am a holistic psychotherapist and transformational coach dedicated to helping individuals reconnect with balance, authenticity, and emotional well-being. My approach blends evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and somatic experiencing with integrative healing practices including Reiki, somatic therapy, and vibroacoustic sound therapy. Through Seven Directions Counseling, I offer a space for growth, reflection, and healing that honors the connection between mind, body, and spirit. I believe in meeting each client where they are—with compassion, curiosity, and a commitment to their unique path of transformation. Whether we are exploring emotional regulation, stress, trauma, or personal development, my goal is to help clients cultivate self-awareness, resilience, and lasting change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in both science and holistic wisdom. I view therapy as a shared journey of exploration and growth—one that helps you reconnect with your inner wisdom, release what no longer serves you, and build tools for lasting emotional balance. In our work together, you can expect a calm, supportive space where you feel seen and heard without judgment. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and somatic experiencing, integrating these with holistic modalities such as Reiki, energy work, and vibroacoustic therapy when appropriate. Sessions often focus on helping you identify patterns that cause distress, increase self-awareness, and develop practical coping strategies. We may use mindfulness or somatic techniques to help regulate your nervous system and bring the body into the healing process. My role is to guide, support, and empower you as you move toward greater clarity, balance, and self-compassion.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work together begins with a collaborative intake session, where we explore your history, current concerns, and goals for therapy. This session helps me understand the patterns, experiences, and strengths that shape your story so we can develop a plan tailored specifically to your needs. In ongoing sessions, you can expect a balance of insight-oriented conversation, skill-building, and experiential techniques designed to help you connect more deeply with your emotions and body. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you recognize and reframe unhelpful thoughts, Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore and heal inner parts of yourself, and mindfulness and somatic experiencing to support nervous system regulation and emotional release. Depending on your needs and preferences, sessions may also include holistic modalities such as Reiki or vibroacoustic sound therapy to enhance relaxation and body–mind integration. Each session is guided by your pace and comfort level, ensuring the work feels supportive, empowering, and aligned with your goals. Over time, clients often describe feeling more grounded, emotionally aware, and connected to a sense of inner balance and authenticity.
