What should a new client know about working with you?

As a new client, you should know that my approach to therapy is deeply rooted in empathy, compassion, and a strong belief in your inherent value and potential. I view therapy as a collaborative journey where we work together to explore your unique experiences and challenges. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process for working with clients begins with an initial consultation to understand your needs and goals. This initial meeting, whether virtual or over the phone, helps us establish a connection and determine if my therapeutic approach aligns with your expectations. Initial Assessment During our first few sessions, we will conduct a thorough assessment of your current challenges, personal history, and goals for therapy. This assessment helps me to tailor our sessions to address your specific needs and to develop a personalized treatment plan. Collaborative Goal Setting Together, we will set achievable and meaningful goals for your therapy. This collaborative process ensures that our work is aligned with your aspirations and that you are fully engaged in your healing journey. Therapeutic Techniques In each session, we will utilize a blend of therapeutic techniques based on your unique needs. For example: Narrative Therapy: We will explore and reframe your life story, helping you to find new meanings and perspectives. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): You will learn skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. Play Therapy: For children, we will engage in play-based activities that facilitate expression and coping. Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT): We will address trauma-related thoughts and behaviors, working towards healing and recovery. Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT): We will enhance communication and strengthen the parent-child relationship. Ongoing Evaluation and Adjustment Throughout our work together, we will regularly evaluate your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan. This ensures that our sessions remain effective and responsive to your evolving needs.
