Psychotherapist
4201 Lake Cook Rd, Ste 103, Northbrook, IL
Hi, my name is Samantha “Sam” Sadler. I’m a therapist in Northbrook, IL with a License in Social Work (LSW). I’m excited that you are considering scheduling an appointment for therapy, whether you have done therapy before or this is your first experience. I have been told by a client in the past that my presence in the office feels like they have “walked into a spa.” I would like to create a safe, calm, and “Zen-like” experience for you. It is hard to start this process, so I hope to make it as comfortable for you as I can! I have experience working with a variety of age ranges – I feel prepared to support you whether you are in the early stages of your life, working through challenging adult decisions, and/or need support working through relationship struggles with your partner and/or family. If you are a kid looking for an easy-going and playful therapist, I think I could be a great fit for you as well! We can break out the Play-doh or you are welcome to challenge me in a game of Connect 4! Whether you are facing anxiety, depression, or challenges within a relationship, I care to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where healing and personal growth can flourish. I feel strongly about the benefits of using mindfulness tools to help ease anxiety and discomfort. I want to help you practice focusing on the present moment instead of worrying about the unknowns of the future. I can help you navigate significant life transitions - recognizing that moments of change—whether related to identity, relationships, or age—can bring up confusion, grief, and vulnerability. With a strong grounding in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness practices, I want to help you increase self-awareness, reduce emotional suffering, and move toward living in alignment with your values. I also have a special interest in supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community and those with developmental disabilities.
