Psychotherapist
IL
Hi there, I'm Samantha! My name is Samantha Schroll, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) based in Palatine, Illinois, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master's degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School. I work with adolescents, teens, and adults, specializing in anxiety, depression, stress, and perinatal concerns. I am certified in Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Informed Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to assist clients in making progress toward their goals and improving overall emotional well-being. My approach My therapeutic approach varies from client to client based on each individual's needs and goals. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as both modalities help me and my clients better understand barriers to progress. This understanding allows us to set specific goals that address both these barriers and the overall concerns clients wish to work on. My focus While I have worked with clients of all ages, I have found my style and approach are a good fit for adolescents, teens, and adults navigating life transitions and social or role pressures. These challenges often present as anxiety, depression, stress, and self-doubt. I assist my clients in learning new skills to reduce their symptoms and support them through these complex changes, which can increase confidence and foster a more positive outlook. My communication style My communication style is calm, direct, validating, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable discussing any and all concerns. I pride myself on creating a warm and welcoming space for everyone I work with. My journey to mental healthcare I decided to become a therapist after completing an internship where I provided individual and group therapy to those incarcerated in a mental health unit. This experience inspired my commitment to supporting others on their path to healing.
