“I saw Dr. Wong regularly for over a year. She is personable, professional, and kind. Talking to her was natural and fun. She's also very sharp and witty. Unlike other therapists I've had over the years, it didn't feel like a chore. She also makes a point to remember details, names, dates, etc.. even seemingly insignificant ones, which becomes very helpful over time. ”

Getting to know Samantha Wong

Are you feeling burned out or questioning whether your work is sustainable long-term? Are you successful on paper but constantly feeling like it’s not enough, or like you’re not enough? I work with people who feel stuck between who they are and what others expect of them. This often shows up as burnout, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or feeling stuck in a career that no longer fits. As a career changer from the finance sector, I understand firsthand how deeply our work can impact our mental health and overall fulfillment. In our work together, we’ll untangle these patterns and explore where they come from. I also support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and multicultural experiences. This includes exploring how culture, identity, family expectations, and systemic pressures shape your experiences and sense of self. I aim to create a space where you can be honest about what’s not working, make sense of your experiences, and begin to relate to yourself with more clarity and self-compassion.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is strength-based, culturally sensitive, and tailored to honor each client’s unique experiences and needs. I support clients in building confidence and developing greater self-compassion. No matter the issue, having a supportive space where your efforts and strengths are recognized can help you stay motivated as you work toward your goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is focused on connection and getting to know each other. I welcome you to ask me any questions about myself or my approach to therapy. I’ll also take the time to learn about you, your story, and what brings you in. Together, we’ll begin shaping goals and identifying what will help you feel supported and empowered in our work.

Sam is amazing at what she does. I have trouble feeling comfortable with people I am not close with but she has this way of creating a safe space that I really appreciate. I learn a lot from our sessions as well - whether it is about myself or just different tools and methods I can use to improve communication and manage my emotions, thoughts, and actions.
Sam is patient, understanding and insightful. She remembers everything that we discuss and I feel like I can come to her for 3rd party objective advice on issues in my personal life and career. I really enjoy working with her and am grateful that she is a listener for my daily challenges, as she has an open mind and logical thought process.
Sam creates a safe, warm and engaging environment. She’s extremely insightful and has been helping me with a range of concerns including anxiety, career, and processing past experiences. So glad I found her!
Been seeing Sam for almost a year now. She is always caring, a great listener and provides a safe professional space to be vulnerable and open. Thank you!!
I’m incredibly grateful for the consistently positive experiences that I’ve had with Samantha Wong. She created a space where I felt seen and heard, and I can fully trust that it will be safe for me to show up as I am. I deeply appreciate her ability to empathize with my immigrant background, acknowledge my struggles, and be there with me as I process my past & present to make the most of my future. I had an incredible year supported by working with her, benefitting greatly from her reflections of my strengths and valuing my personal accomplishments along the way. I highly recommend working with her and had no reservations sending someone close to me her way.
I had my doubts about therapy, but I’m glad I stuck it out until I found someone that was a good match for me. Sam legitimately changed my life. I went from self-loathing to able to accept myself from my past to my flaws to see myself compassionately and cut myself a break when I mess up without thinking I’m an awful person anymore. Her ability to understand me helps me better understand myself and why I feel and act the way I do. This knowledge helps me consciously choose what I want from my life outside of what is expected of me. When someone so wholeheartedly believe in you, it starts to rub on to you and you start believing in yourself. This just makes life so much easier and I thank Sam so much for helping me get to this place.
