Hello, my name is Juanita Pate. I am a licensed professional counselor licensed in Texas. I earned my Master's in School Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I work with young adults, adolescents, and couples. I primarily support clients who have experienced trauma and help them navigate healthy relationships through educational books and coping skills. I use the Gottman Institute methods, which are research-based, to educate my clients on leading healthy relationships.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe in empowering my clients by working together to explore the relationships in their lives and teach them skills that can help and improve their confidence in communication.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session consists of getting to know you and talking about your goals for therapy. Afterwards I will put together a Therapy Plan which consists of recommendations, usually readings and educational videos that I assign to you in between sessions. I also assign exercises and discuss the outcomes during our therapy session.

We use Headway to file insurance claims for Aetma, Cigna and BlueCross BlueShield. We offer a sliding scale fee for those individuals that qualify.
