Getting to know Sandra Calzadilla

I am an experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor with more than 26 years of experience across a wide range of mental health settings, including community mental health, hospital settings, and outpatient care. I work with individuals and couples, with a strong focus on trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism-related concerns, motivation, and goal setting. My style is honest, direct, transparent, and supportive. I use an eclectic approach, drawing from the tools and therapeutic methods that best fit each client’s needs. Session Information (Self-Pay Rates) • Therapy Evaluation: $180 (60 minutes) • Therapy Follow-Up: $160 (60 minutes) These rates apply to self-pay patients. If you are using insurance, the cost of services will be determined by your insurance plan based on your specific benefits, copay, coinsurance, or deductible.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients should know that I believe trust is one of the most important parts of therapy. I want clients to feel comfortable, respected, and safe enough to talk about difficult experiences. I work well with clients who are ready to participate in the process, committed to growth, and open to accountability with gentle encouragement. My goal is to help clients feel empowered, supported, and more confident in their ability to heal.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins by meeting clients where they are and understanding their current challenges, history, strengths, and goals. Sessions may include psychoeducation, practical assignments, accountability, trauma-informed interventions, and supportive exploration. I tailor treatment to the individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. Together, we work toward healing, clarity, improved coping, and meaningful change.
