Psychotherapist
TX
Weaving a tapestry one strand at a time. That is how I describe my work with individual adult clients from diverse cultural backgrounds who struggle with substance use, trauma experiences, depression, anxiety, grief, and domestic violence. My clients represent educators, first responders, veterans, retirees, young mothers, healthcare workers, business administrators, retail associates, and more. My experience evolved by working in various settings, including non-profit agencies, community clinics, and the criminal justice system. I hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Our Lady of the Lake University. I have developed a collaborative style with a systemic perspective that focuses on listening to understand, remaining curious, asking insightful questions, exploring new ideas, and finding manageable solutions. I believe a solid therapeutic alliance-that is, the relationship between therapist and client-is fundamental to helping clients make positive changes and experience growth. Life is a series of ups and downs, often full of stressors and major life transitions. Amid the tumult, clients lose their sense of self, their purpose, their esteem, their support systems. As a therapist, I want to engage clients in transformative conversations that help them experience hope, manage emotions effectively, improve communication skills, develop coping strategies, and understand and alter patterns of choices and behavior that have had adverse consequences.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My clients can expect a safe, non-judgmental space in which to share their stories and their goals. I generally begin each session by asking clients what they hope to accomplish in the time we have together and what is important for them to discuss, thus supporting client choices and their own sense of agency. I strive to help clients create a narrative that aligns with their strengths, values, and beliefs. I support a culture of feedback and continually check-in with clients to make sure they are realizing progress.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
