Psychotherapist
OR
Hi there, I'm Sandra! I am a white, nonbinary female. My spiritual beliefs align most closely with paganism and Buddhism. I am married and have a son who serves in the military. I was raised in a working-class military family. I consider myself to have progressive values, and I value diversity in all its forms. My approach My primary approach is person-centered therapy, pulling from other modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, somatic approaches, and attachment theory. My practice is trauma-informed and strength-based. I also utilize EMDR, which can be a very effective modality for processing trauma. My focus My ideal client is someone who comes to their sessions with a willingness to be open and vulnerable. It is entirely up to you to decide what you would like to discuss during our sessions. I work with adults who are dealing with issues, such as depression or anxiety, going through life transitions, or working through trauma. I also enjoy working with individuals from the LGBTQ+ community. I am not experienced or skilled in working with substance use disorders. If that is something that you struggle with, I likely will not be a good match for you. My communication style I use a non-directive, collaborative approach to working with you to support you in making positive changes. I offer open and honest feedback that is also compassionate and non-judgmental. My first session with you During our initial session, I will ask a series of questions to better understand your background, experiences, who you are as a person, and what you would like to work on.
