Getting to know Sandra Martinez

My name is Sandra Martinez, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Orange County, CA. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Fullerton. I work with young adults and teens, specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitional changes, relationship issues, peer-related challenges, stress, and family concerns. Trained in various evidence-based treatment models, I utilize an integrative therapeutic approach to best meet the unique needs of each client. I take a collaborative approach to goal setting, working closely with clients to understand what they hope to achieve in therapy and the changes they want to make.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I typically work well with young adults and teens who are willing to explore and make changes in their life. My communication style is very calm, empathetic, open minded, direct, personable, and I enjoy using humor as appropriate. I want my clients to feel comfortable and like they can be themselves when we work together. *****FYI: I dont accept Medi-Cal or Medicaid plans*****

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our first session together I will complete a biopsychosocial assessment where I will ask you many questions to get to know you and what brought you to therapy. We will also review goals and what you would like to work on during your treatment.

Sandra has helped me with my anxiety and depression immensely! I don't usually open up to anyone, but she made it easy and comfortable. I appreciate her so much, definitely recommend her!!!
Sandra gave me a lot of thoughtful and in-depth material that’s really helping me build healthier boundaries and start making sense of my thoughts, behaviors, and how they’ve shape my life. It feels like the kind of support I’ve been needing for a long time.
She has been a big support. I always look forward to our appointments. She has been nothing, but the biggest help in my life. and even though I don’t say it, I appreciate her for being flexible.
My visits are always very welcoming and easy for me to talk. I enjoy the conversation we have and the time being put into working together.
It was a really rewarding experience :) She offered insights that helped fill any gaps in information that I had, and asked thoughtful questions that supported my self-growth. Each session felt like a checkpoint in my mindfulness journey — I gained a new takeaway from each conversation. I also feel like I was given a safe space to cry, vent, or exhale any worries I had within me. Therapy with Sandra was definitely an inflection point in my mental health journey, and I am so thankful! :)
