Psychotherapist
ME
Life can be challenging: anxiety, depression, grief, change, ADHD, and autism. It helps when someone can validate our experience and walk with us through the tough times. As a therapist, my job is to help you overcome the obstacles in your life that are preventing you from living a life that brings you joy. My approach My approach to therapy is person-centered. My role is to facilitate the changes you want to make. At various points in life, we all need someone to talk to—someone who won’t judge us, doesn’t have a side in the conflict, or doesn't think they know what’s best for us. As a therapist, I am a neutral party. I am here to support you in your journey. My focus How do you want to improve your life? Maybe you aren’t sure what you want in life, but you know it’s not what you are experiencing now. I am here to support you in that journey. Change is difficult, especially when it is change for the better. I work with preteens, teenagers, and adults of all ages. My communication style My communication style is straightforward. My journey to mental healthcare I came to this field after serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, working in accounting, training dogs, and working as an adoption counselor at an animal shelter. My journey has been a meandering path with multiple plot twists (or curveballs). Therapy helped me get through the worst of the experiences. Now, I enjoy assisting others to work through their life challenges. My goals for you Together, we will identify goals that you would like to achieve and create a treatment plan. From there, we may process how you are thinking and feeling and identify activities that may move you toward your goal. Your feedback about what works, what doesn't work, and why will be explored to find the most effective method for you. My first session with you The first therapy session is an opportunity to get to know each other. We will explore what brought you to therapy and what you want to gain from this experience.
