Getting to know Sandra (Sandy) Perkins

Does your life feel overwhelming, out of control with fear, worries, or sadness? I am here to help you navigate these stormy waters toward a calmer, more peaceful you! Maybe your relationship with your teenager is rocky or feels out of control-perhaps even more volatile than that. No matter if you're struggling personally or in your relationships with others, there is hope! My name is Sandy, and I'm here to help. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Supervisor in the State of Florida. I graduated from Barry University in 2004 with my master's degree in social work. For the past 19 years, I have dedicated my work to helping children, adolescents, and their families cope with a variety of difficulties. Whether you or your child has experienced sexual trauma, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, family conflict, or suicidal intent, I provide a space for you to grow and heal from these challenges. My specialty is working with individuals and families to build healthy relationships, solve problems, challenge unhealthy thought patterns, and live fulfilling lives rooted in Christ-focused values. I am committed to providing a safe, confidential, nurturing, and spiritual environment where healing and growth can occur. My therapeutic approach involves the whole person-mind, body, and soul-using empirically supported, evidence-based modalities.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a licensed clinician with 20 years of practice, I have supported teens and adults to identify, process and adapt to healthier changes in their lives. I help you to process your current and past experiences with a non-judgmental, open mind and heart to minimize or release the pain from sadness, worry, guilt and shame.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process is to listen, assess and provide psychoeducation of diagnosis and gather your goals for treatment. Following, we identify and build in skills and strategies to effect healthy change. We continuously process progress and make goal changes, as needed.
