Psychotherapist
CA
Sandy Gordon is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. They hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Oaks College. Their CA license number is 129579, and their current employer is Farah Centeno. As a bi-cultural Black, queer therapist, clients come to me seeking someone with shared lived experiences because therapy should be a place where you can be your whole self and feel truly seen. Sessions with me are heart-centered spaces filled with warmth, compassion, humor, and play, balanced with care and reverence for your life. Together, we can create deep change. I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ communities and people of color, supporting them in showing up as their true, authentic selves, gaining confidence, and flourishing as they define it. You don’t have to stay stuck and hopeless, and you definitely don’t have to do this alone.

What should a new client know about working with you?

While I have advanced training in the following: Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples; ACPE Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy Training; Feedback-Informed Treatment and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for trauma, anxiety, and more, my aim is to co-create a space with you where you can process, explore, discover, access, and tap into your own compassion and wisdom. In our work together, I will share resources and practices that can assist you further on your unique path towards self-trust, self-confidence, transformation, self-discovery, and personal growth. What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our initial 50-minute sessions, we delve into a comprehensive and holistic discussion regarding your presenting issues, relevant background and history, and goals. Through this open and collaborative conversation, we work together to develop a treatment plan that is tailored specifically to your unique needs. Afterwards, we meet weekly (or biweekly) where we will work together towards achieving your desired goals for therapy.
