Hello! My name is Sara Au, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands. My approach to therapy is holistic and person-centered, focusing on youth and adults experiencing mood-related concerns such as anxiety and depression, trauma, stress coping, relationship challenges, and life adjustments. My focus I work with youth-including children and adolescents-as well as young to older adults from diverse backgrounds. I have experience treating clients in clinical/private, community, school, inpatient, and remote settings, mainly through individual counseling. My focus areas include emotional and mood regulation, family and interpersonal conflicts, trauma, stress reduction, anger management, major life transitions, identity development, self-esteem, and academic or career-related concerns. My communication style I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental environment where clients feel safe, seen, and supported with unconditional positive regard. My journey to therapy I have always been passionate about understanding the human mind and what drives thoughts and behaviors. I enjoy learning about the psyche and equipping individuals facing mental health challenges and life stressors with tools to manage their experiences and live fulfilling lives. My goals for you Goal setting begins during the initial session and is developed collaboratively throughout the assessment process in the following sessions to best support your growth and healing.
