My goal is to help you find understanding, insight, and strategies to improve your mood as well as find joy and meaning in life again. My focus Feeling overwhelmed? Struggling with anxious thoughts and feeling down on yourself? I help adults and older adults process depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. Retraining your thoughts, practicing self-care, and encouraging self-talk can help you become your own source of encouragement. My approach I use an eclectic approach, matching your needs. Through a collaborative approach, we can reframe self-defeating thoughts and find practical ways to help you reach your goals. My communication style Come sit with me where you can be free to be openly honest about yourself, your thoughts, and your life. I'm here to help you work towards your goals. My journey to mental healthcare My journey into therapy began at a young age. My teachers, friends, and others around me always told me I was going to be a counselor. Through my college experience, I found my interest and then honed my skills in helping others find joy and satisfaction in life again. Working in the substance abuse field has shown me people's ability to change. My goals for you The therapy hour is a setting where we work together to identify goals that will help improve your life. This improvement may be personal within you, in your relationships, or in other areas of life. Also, remember that through gaining personal insight through our time together, your goals may slightly change and evolve. We will adjust with them.
