Have you ever heard the saying, "You must make a choice to take a chance or your life will never change?" (Zig Ziglar). Life challenges us time and again, but after hardships, we find our strength. I am the empathetic and compassionate person I am today because of challenging life experiences that led me on this path and gave me an unfailing passion for helping others feel better and achieve their personal best. My goal is to provide you with genuine connection, attention, and care, using an individually tailored approach that addresses both the mind and body and best supports your unique needs. I believe in person-centered care. You know yourself best, and your therapeutic goals will be our guide. We may work on developing stronger interpersonal relationships, reframing negative thought patterns, identifying self-defeating behaviors, or understanding ways to cope with significant life changes or loss. Let’s work together to get you "unstuck." Sustainable healing is possible as you become more self-aware and confident in your own abilities. I’m ready to help jumpstart your journey to deeper self-understanding, and I look forward to working with you to help you reach your full potential!

What should a new client know about working with you?

I love working with clients of all populations ages 6+ and provide both individual and couples therapy. I primarily use a psychodynamic approach when working with adults, always being mindful of providing person-centered care. I also have a special interest in helping victims of narcissistic abuse and those with posttraumatic stress disorder. If you're looking for a therapist who understands the needs of gifted children, look no further! Gifted children can face unique struggles with peers, other family members and authority figures including their teachers. Unfortunately, gifted children all too often 'fall through the cracks' and are dismissed as angry, irritable, unempathetic or having low self-esteem. They act out in classrooms because they're bored, disinterested, or feel different from everyone else. But their gifts are just that -- gifts. Nurturing these traits rather than working against them (which may seem to be happening everywhere else), is so incredibly important for allowing these children much-needed freedom of self-expression and support to advance. Contact me to learn more today!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We will schedule an intake session at which you can tell me a bit more about yourself and what brings you to therapy. This is where I will get to know what your goals are and we can see if you feel I'm a good fit. After the initial intake, we will usually either schedule recurring weekly or bi-weekly sessions to promote an adequate continuation of care.
