Hi there! I'm Sara, and I'm glad you're here! That means you've already taken steps that aren't easy to try to change something that's not working for you. Whether you've already identified what's challenging in your life or you can't quite figure out what's wrong but know something is missing, I'm here to help you on the journey to being fully you. I know it can be an arduous process to find a therapist who is the right fit for you, so our first goal will be to decide if I'm the best to meet your needs, and if not, to find the person who is! Growth and change are too important to be stopped by one less-than-ideal try at therapy, amiright? So we will find the direction that works best for you! I hold a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you effectively. Now, if we feel like a good fit, what I CAN promise to do is be on this journey WITH you. That happens not by telling you what to do but by determining a destination and creating the roadmap together. No two individuals are the same, so even if your goals are similar to someone else's, I want to help you get there in the way that makes sense for you, utilizing your strengths, passions, giftings, and so much more. I also recognize that your life experiences, like family dynamics or past challenges, play a part in how you navigate the world. I want to help you see if there are lies about yourself that you've picked up along the way and "unpack" those by taking a more objective look at who you really are and who you want to be, regardless of what someone may have spoken over you. The true you has a lot more freedom to go after your goals than the you who is carrying the weight of untrue messages. Let's free you up to live your best life!

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our first few sessions, I'll gather information about your current reality and where you'd like to go, and together we'll identify goals and build a plan to reach them. The work doesn't stop after our 50 minutes though. We'll create action steps that feel manageable and supportive for the time in between our sessions, because even if our discussions are impactful, you'll see true change when you choose to continue the work in your day-to-day. When we next see each other, we'll discuss what worked and what didn't, and while you can expect to feel a little discomfort (change doesn't happen without it!), I will never leave you without direction or use shame as a tactic - this is a supportive, judgment-free zone!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
