Sarah Bartholomew-Fisher, LCSW

Psychotherapist
6315 Forbes Ave, Ste 120-a, Pittsburgh, PA
Sarah is a licensed clinical social worker with a Master's in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University. She provides therapy to individuals across the lifespan, specializing in trauma. Sarah has spent years working with individuals who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assaults, sexual abuse, and child abuse and neglect. She is also dedicated to supporting LGBT+ individuals and parents of LGBT+ children in growing their understanding of how to lovingly support their child. Sarah understands how hard it can be to take the first step toward reaching out for help. She has worked with individuals who have been hurt, both physically and mentally, by people they loved and trusted. Some lived with that pain for decades before seeking help. Some didn't know where to turn, others didn't want to think about what they had experienced, and they certainly didn't want to talk about it. Some had tried to reach out before but were blamed for what happened or how they felt. They were told to ?get over it? or ?it wasn't that bad.? These messages came from friends, family, religious leaders, and even past therapists. Sarah is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and practices trauma-informed therapy. The effects of trauma can resemble many other mental health diagnoses, and people are often misdiagnosed with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, or Depression. She practices with cultural humility and is comfortable working with people from many different cultures and backgrounds. Sarah is passionate about equality and equity and works with marginalized and oppressed individuals.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
