What should a new client know about working with you?

Sarah takes a psychodynamic approach in treating clients, as she believes the majority of one's "issues" are actually symptoms of a deeper disconnect. Upon meeting with a new client, Sarah takes the time to obtain an overall history of the client's background, upbringing, recent changes and an understanding of past and present relationships that have affected one's functioning, for better or worse. Sarah incorporates the identification of love language and personality types to empower the client while navigating new patterns of behavior and thinking. Sarah reminds the clients repeatedly that there is a rhythm or "cadence" necessary for changes to be made. Along with learning new tools to use as measurements for these changes, Sarah checks in consistently on the patterns within one's control, including sleep, nutrition, water intake, movement, sunlight and Vitamin D levels. These items in combination with consistent small changes, such as boundaries, are what Sarah has found to be the key to success with the majority of her clients.
