Hi there, I'm Sarah! My name is Sarah Davidson-Amici, and I hold an LCSW license (#92920). I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Loma Linda University. My approach to therapy focuses on where the client is currently and the presenting issue, while exploring the area of their life where they feel they need the most improvement. Once the problem area is defined, the therapeutic work is tailored to how the client responds to various interventions. I have worked as a medical social worker in hospital and clinic settings, giving me broad experience helping people of all ages adapt to new diagnoses. I draw from Narrative, Motivational, Solution-Focused, and CBT theories depending on what the client needs and what fits best. At Kaiser, I worked with clients aged 2 to 88, though I prefer working with adults on the online platform since children often benefit more from hands-on play therapy. Many of my clients struggle with medical issues and grief. I find my strength lies in helping adults adapt to an ever-changing world and their evolving aging process. My communication style is casual and free of therapeutic jargon. I’m down-to-earth and real, using empathy to understand each client’s needs. I strive to be approachable so clients feel they can trust me and take the lead in driving their mental health journey. I’m currently transferring service areas, and many clients want to continue working with me—a sign of the trust we’ve built. I’ve always been a good listener and nonjudgmental, which makes people comfortable opening up. Inspired by the Good Samaritan concept, I pursued social work to help others. My goal has always been to work as a therapist because there are many ways to live life and change one’s trajectory. I formulate goals based on each client’s desired outcomes and encourage them throughout the process.
