“I have been in counseling with Sarah for several months, and my time with her has been a time of personal growth driven by her compassionate listening, insights into emotional states / nutrition / long term personal planning, and ability to connect with my issues and clearly point out paths of action. I started counseling with Sarah (my first time ever seeking this type of professional help) out of a desire to better learn how to regulate my emotions and avoid cycles of negative thinking and habits. From the start, Sarah listened to my stories and background without judgement, and used these anecdotes to point out behaviors and patterns of practice which could be feeding into those negative cycles. Based on her advice and practical statements, I was able to better recognize the triggers for my emotions and decrease the likelihood that they would have an impact on me. Her emphasis on practical skills and tools which you can take away with you in your day-to-day life is something I greatly appreciate and found to be personally useful. For example, I often have issues in planning out my day to day tasks, and in meeting long-term goals. Sarah worked with me to identify a few tips and tricks which I could use to meet those long term tasks (one of which involves a writing project I have long been putting off), by breaking them into their constituent parts and creating specific plans for each one. In addition to her listening and planning skills, Sarah’s wide breadth of knowledge in other areas is one of her key strengths, with her ability to speak on nutrition, inter-personal relationships, childhood development, emotional regulation, and many other topics. I personally found this valuable, as I learned how to take a more holistic and less segmented approach to my daily life. Furthermore, she is available to meet over phone, text, or Zoom, which I appreciated. In sum, I would highly recommend Sarah as a counselor and advisor. ”
