“I've been seeing Sarah for a couple years now and she is the first therapist that I've ever truly connected with. She's intelligent, compassionate, knowledgeable, and insightful. Most of all she is comfortable. By that I mean that it is extremely easy to open up to Sarah and talk to her about what exactly is going on in your life and head. Getting to know Sarah Hoskens Helman

I primarily work with two populations: moms striving to find balance in their lives, and the LGBTQ+ community. As a mom of a young child with disabilities, I deeply relate to the challenges moms face and enjoy supporting them through these experiences. As a member and advocate of the LGBTQ+ community, I understand the unique struggles related to coming out, family dynamics, self-acceptance, and more. I help my clients navigate these issues and live their best lives.
Another specialty of mine is working with couples. Relationships are fundamental to our well-being, and using my extensive training and experience, I assist couples in building healthier communication and conflict resolution skills. I am also experienced in working with polyamory, BDSM dynamics, same-sex relationships, and relationships where one partner is in transition.
I also support many clients exploring gender identity. I help them navigate questions, determine the best path forward, and connect them to resources for pursuing transition in a way that fits their needs. I offer surgery consultations and approval letters alongside ongoing therapy.
I hold a Master's in Counselor Education, a Bachelor's degree, and certificates in Behavioral Forensics and Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy-all from the University of Central Florida.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My therapy style is very conversational and relaxed. You are the expert on you, and I'm an expert on mental health, and we work together to identify what you need, set goals, and problem-solve.
