What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with you to identify what goals you come to therapy with. I ensure that we focus on the areas that you find the most important. I try to ensure that each session you leave feeling like you got something out of it, and encourage you to steer dialogue and focus how you see it most beneficial. We will work together to talk through and explore current and potentially past experiences to find root causes to symptoms or thought processes that are causing discomfort in your life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

If we work together, the first session will include an assessment to collect current and past information about overall health, family history, current stressors, strengths, and goals. I like to provide a comfortable environment during session where you feels supported, sometimes challenges, and are given the opportunity to explore your experiences from different perspectives and points of view to ensure you have the most information to use while processing, moving forward, or making difficut decisions. You will feel like you are having a normal conversation with a close friend through most sessions, instead of feeling you are being told what you "should" do or feel. Many people state they feel better after the first session just having a chance to get their thoughts and feelings out of their head, and having someone else help hold all of the weight.
