Sarah Landers received her Bachelor's in Social Work from Southeast Missouri State University in December 2010. She then earned her Master's in Social Work from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in May 2014. Sarah obtained her social work license in 2019. Since 2010, Sarah has been working in the mental health field across various settings. She has experience with patients of all ages, with the majority of her career focused on working with school-aged children through adults.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Sarah typically has one-hour sessions, frequency depends on the client's needs or desires. She has some who have weekly sessions to monthly sessions. All paperwork is electronic, but is user friendly. The telehealth sessions have a link sent to your email and/or phone via text. There is also a fee app to use on phones for the sessions, if you choose to use a phone. A private location is ideal so you feel you can talk freely and feel comfortable. Sarah prides herself in accepting people and creating a non-judgmental space to help you grow in a way that you desire. The first session is mostly about getting to know each other, reviewing policies, and creating goals for therapy. In that session, you will also discuss scheduling including how frequent you'd like to have therapy or need therapy to be and when those sessions can be in the future. Sarah also has a user-friendly platform where you can schedule, cancel, and reschedule online in addition to speaking with her in session, text, chat, or email about scheduling needs. The relationship between the therapist and client is one of the most vital things to your growth in therapy, so building that relationship and feeling comfortable is a very important part of the therapy process.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Sarah specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, grief, life transitions, faith-based counseling, and parenting. She utilizes solution focused, CBT, DBT, and strength-based therapeutic approaches. Sarah prides herself on accepting others with any and all differences, aims to create a judgment free space to build a relationship, promote healing, and stimulate growth towards her clients goals.
