Sarah Looney, LPC

Psychotherapist
AR
Hi there, I'm Sarah! I am a nationally certified licensed professional counselor with a Master of Education in Counseling from Texas Southern University. I also hold a Bachelor's degree from the University of Houston-Downtown and an Associate's degree from The Art Institute of Houston. I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy, including but not limited to CBT, CPT, DBT, and SFBT. I consider myself an ethical, but not professional, laid-back therapist. I like to tailor my approach to each person's needs since everyone is different. I try to keep an open mind and will work alongside you to find the solution. While I use various methods, I mainly utilize CBT in my sessions. I mostly work with adults who need assistance with depression, stress, trauma, and anxiety. However, my many years working in various settings have given me a broad perspective and knowledge. I am laid back and chill. Therapy shouldn't be added to your list of issues. I'm spicy-brained and try to treat others as I would like to be treated. I'm a nerd and will sometimes speak in movie and music quotes. I truly love what I do. My life experiences have helped guide me to becoming a therapist. I want to be the help that I wasn't able to get. I don't mind discussing my journey-all you need to do is ask. I approach goal setting with clients in the first session. I take what is discussed and help guide you toward potential goals. The first session is a get-to-know-you, as though you are meeting a new friend. I try to make it as effortless as possible, and we will discuss goals and preferences.
