Getting to know Sarah Naqvi

I offer a therapeutic space where you can feel grounded, supported, and understood, without needing to perform, overextend, or carry it all by yourself. I work with individuals who have spent much of their lives taking care of others, keeping the peace, or trying to meet expectations that leave little room for their own needs. I also support couples who feel disconnected and want to find their way back to each other with more honesty, curiosity, and care. Many of the people I work with come in feeling emotionally overwhelmed, burned out, or unsure of who they are outside of the roles they’ve been in for so long. You might be navigating people-pleasing, imposter syndrome, family dynamics, or the exhaustion that comes from being the one everyone depends on. As the daughter of South Asian immigrants, I understand what it’s like to move between cultures, roles, and expectations. I bring this lived experience into the therapy space, especially when working with clients navigating intergenerational pressure, family loyalty, and the desire to feel more at ease in who they are. Together, we’ll create a space where healing feels honest, supportive, and grounded.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In therapy, we slow down and make space for what’s been pushed aside. I help you start to notice what’s happening in your body, understand what emotions or protective patterns might be showing up, and work with the parts of you that learned to stay small, shut down, or keep going no matter what. Our work may include breathwork, nervous system regulation, or simply sitting with what feels hard or unclear.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is grounded in emotion-focused, Somatic, attachment-based, and Narrative therapy, as well as the Gottman Method for couples. I draw from AEDP, body-based practices, and relational work to help you reconnect with your needs, boundaries, and sense of self in a way that feels sustainable and real.
