Getting to know Sarah Parks

I approach each client with warmth, congruency, respect, and support. I believe that all individuals are navigating their own personal experience, while in a constant state of change and transition that sometimes serves them well and sometimes does not. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University, which informs my compassionate and client-centered approach.

What should a new client know about working with you?

together we will explore and strengthen resources and skills already present to shift the language of our experience for useful growth. Clients who seem to work well with me are ones that are motivated to make changes and who are comfortable with awareness of self and creating new patterns. I help people heal their relationship with themselves and others, so that they can show up in the world more authentically aligned with their values. I offer several modes of self-reflection and opportunity for change. I am so eager to begin new journeys with others, and am invested in being a passenger in each person’s vehicle for the duration needed. I operate from a Solution Focused Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy while also utilizing techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Person Centered and Psychoanalyic therapeutic techniques.
