My sessions with Sarah have helped me to show up in the world in a way that's so much more authentic and I’m now able to hold space for my own emotions instead of burying them. Getting to know Sarah Romeo

Hello and welcome :) My name is Sarah Romeo. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 18 years of experience in private practice. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and a Bachelor's degree from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. I specialize in CBT, assisting clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment disorders, and relationship issues.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our sessions, you will be provided with a warm, nonjudgmental and safe environment where you can feel comfortable being vulnerable and open. My focus is a strength-based, client-centered approach, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy. My hours are from 9 am to 2 pm, Monday through Friday. I look forward to working with you :)

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I assist clients by providing coping skills based on their strengths. This in turn will allow them to overcome obstacles, guide them to changing behaviors, and facilitate decision-making. "The wound is the place where the light enters you" -Rumi

I was referred to Sarah by my cardiologist in 2016. The instant i met Sarah i was hooked. The welcoming smile and calm demeanor made me feel comfortable and at ease. Sarah has a very unique way of listening and adding expert advice on life and circumstance. I look forward to speaking with Sarah every 2 weeks. The great thing about Sarah (among many things) is the non-judgemental way she treats you. I could not imagine my life without her. I owe Sarah more than i could ever repay. Thank you Sarah, you are forever in my heart.
I’ve been seeing Sarah since around mid 2020 and within the 2+ years I’ve seen her, my perspective and attitude toward myself has changed drastically. Sarah is a great listener and always understands what I’m going through while also making me see my problems in a different light. When talking to Sarah, I forget I’m in a therapy session and feel as though I’m catching up with a friend. She is kind, patient, and caring, and I recommend her highly.
Sarah has been a tremendous help and voice of reason to me during this very difficult time in my life. She is compassionate and empathetic. She listens and understands what I’m trying to say about my feelings which is most times very hard for me to relay. I highly recommend her as a therapist.
Sarah was wonderful, friendly, very easy to talk to. Professional yet felt like I was talking to a friend which made it easier to open up. 2nd appointment is already booked.

I’ve been a client of Sarah’s for over a decade. I have diagnoses of Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder. When I first started seeing Sarah it was during a time where I was in an abusive relationship. Prior to therapy I never let myself recognize that I am a survivor of domestic violence. She was always so caring patient and supportive. I was hospitalized from the abuse. The most traumatic of all being the many court dates that I had to attend to act as a witness for the charges against him. This meant 6+ court appearances not knowing when I would face my abuser. Sarah made it a point to see me 1-2 times p/w to role play all anxiety of having to face my abuser. Her steadfast support and compassion during that time truly saved me. Currently I am the least anxious I’ve ever been. I recognize the signs of anxiety or panic early, and use the tools that Sarah has taught me to manage those feelings early. I can not recommend anyone more highly if you are seeking counselor!
Sarah has been my therapist for several years. She is very professional and knowledgeable. She has always made me feel that I am her top priority during our sessions. She has helped me find different ways to navigate difficult situations by educating me on several techniques such as hypnosis and meditation and also letting me vent while listening with no judgment or criticism. I have used several of her techniques that have resulted in very positive outcomes. She truly has your best interest in mind and I am so thankful I have found her! I Highly recommend!
Sarah has been my therapist for over 4 years, and she has helped me navigate so many areas of my life; from major life transitions to small day-to-day issues. After each session, I leave with a different insight into myself and a plan of action for how to address any of my concerns. I have had a different therapist in the past, however, I have felt much more comfortable opening up to Sarah since she is so easy to talk to and has such a warm presence. After each session, I am left feeling more at ease than when we started. I am very happy and thankful that she is my therapist!
I have had nothing but amazing experiences with Sarah. I have been working with her for years in person, via zoom and over the phone call sessions. She has helped me deal with problems that I didnt think was possible to ever overcome. She provided me with resourses and tactics that helped me significantly. I completely trust her guidance and reccommend anyone to see her asap. I cannot say enough positive things about her and the way she practices. Im so greatful to have found her to help me all these years!!
I highly recommend Sarah Romeo as a therapist. She is a very compassionate person. It is not just a job to her, she really cares. Sarah makes sure that she has time to talk to you. She will try different techniques so that you feel comfortable taking about difficult issues. Sarah is a terrific therapist.
