Howdy, I'm Sarah Ryan, the founder of Holding Space Counseling. My journey began with a childhood dream and a lifelong calling to help others. I've always felt drawn to holding space for others and creating a safe environment where people can explore, heal, and grow. My path has been diverse and rich with experiences that have shaped my approach to counseling. I served teens and parents for twenty years in non-profit and educational settings. After the schools closed in 2020, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that prompted me to reassess my path and pursue my long-held dream of becoming a licensed professional counselor. I obtained my M.A. in Counseling from UTSA and earned 3,000 hours of hands-on experience. Along the way, I honed my skills, deepened my understanding of human behavior, and cultivated a profound appreciation for the power of holding space. I learned about myself and the purpose I feel in helping couples and individuals experiencing trauma and life changes. At Holding Space Counseling, I believe in the transformative power of holding space—the simple act of being fully present with another person, without judgment or agenda. It is my mission to create a safe and welcoming space where individuals and couples can explore their struggles, find healing, and discover their inner resilience. Thank you for entrusting me with your journey. Together, let's create a space where healing and growth flourish, and where everyone feels supported and valued.
