Psychotherapist
4621 N Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, IL
I became a social worker because I enjoy being with people and accompanying them on their journey to self-discovery. I consider it a privilege that clients let me into their worlds and trust me with their stories. I love being able to be present for people and work with them to recognize their individual strengths, gifts, and capacity for resiliency. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Boston University, which has provided me with a strong foundation to support my clinical practice. I work to create a safe, warm, judgment-free, and trauma-informed space for all of my clients. My approach to therapy fosters a collaborative relationship between client and therapist. I hold a strong belief that the client is the expert in their own lives. Therefore, I strive to partner with clients to identify goals that are important to them and to work towards achieving those goals. In developing relationships with clients, I rely on humor and warmth to foster strong connections. Additionally, I embrace a holistic approach that focuses on the mind/body connection. I use my training as a registered yoga instructor to integrate trauma-informed yoga, meditation, and breathing techniques into the therapeutic process. I customize each client's treatment to their unique needs and choose treatment modalities to match the individual person. I have a long history of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, teens, and adults. I have worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, domestic violence agencies, homeless services, and community mental health. Additional areas of interest include life transitions, domestic violence, grief/loss, depression, anxiety, OCD, phobias, self-esteem, trauma, parental mental health, and pregnancy and postpartum. I am also SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) trained from the Yale Child Study Center.
