What should a new client know about working with you?

I utilize a strength-based, client-centered approach. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy in my work also. I often integrate solution-focused therapy approaches in my practice. I enjoy supporting my client's in building tools to navigate their challenges proactively. I am kind and compassionate and also direct. I appreciate the opportunity to integrate feedback in the moment and assist my clients in looking at their challenges through various perspectives. I have worked as a social worker since 2008. I completed both my undergraduate and graduate degrees at Loyola University Chicago. I am passionate about working with both teens and young adults. I have worked with such populations in the following settings: Residential treatment; therapeutic wilderness; outpatient; Intensive Outpatient; in-home care. I have experience in program management and providing clinical supervision to pre-licensed clinicians also.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I utilize a relational approach through my work. I provide a relaxed environment for clients to use the therapeutic space available to them to openly process their thoughts and feelings. I provide gentle challenging throughout, helping clients to lean into different perspectives and approaches offered. Clients leave my office feeling lighter and supported. Clients appreciate the space that I provide them and show motivation to return.
