What should a new client know about working with you?

Whether you are experiencing Anxiety, Depression, Life Adjustments, or any of the other specialties I treat, I will help you: understand what is happening, increase your self-awareness and acceptance of what is happening, and help you find your solutions. You possess what you need to move forward; I just help you connect with your deeper self. I am a client-centered therapist, which means the focus is on you and what you specifically need and on what you specifically want to achieve. I will help you get there, with grace and empathy, while providing a non-judgmental and emotionally safe space.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Once you book, I will send you a link to set up your portal with Headway. I will send you all of your documents through your portal, and you can fill them out, sign them, and send them back to me via the portal. Please have 2 or 3 days and times in your mind for final scheduling! I will confirm your booking, or if needed, reschedule you for the same week. The first thing that we will do together is a thorough intake, which includes completing what is called a biopsychosocial assessment. This assessment, or what I call the clinical interview, provides your the opportunity to answer questions about yourself within different areas of your life. The information that you share with me gives me a “snapshot” of your history, who you are now, and where you want to work towards in therapy. There are no wrong answers; just a description of you and your world. From the second session forward, you and I will meet once weekly, and begin working on your goals right away. I am a strengths-based, developmental and empathic therapist who uses an integrative approach to counseling. This means that I apply theories and interventions based upon your needs at any given time as well as in congruence with your treatment goals. If you have not participated in the therapeutic process before, I’m here to tell you that it is a beautiful journey that may be difficult at times, glorious at times, and fascinating at other times. It is a journey, not a sprint. No pressure, no judgment. Just transformation.
