Getting to know Sarah Stover

Reaching out for therapy can be a big step, and everyone deserves a space where they feel safe, understood, and accepted. As a Licensed Social Worker in Colorado, I'm passionate about helping people make sense of their experiences, reconnect with themselves, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships. I believe therapy works best when it's rooted in genuine connection, curiosity, and evidence-based care, creating space for meaningful and lasting change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I see adults and couples and specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, and supporting people experiencing chronic illness. Every person brings a unique story, strengths, and goals to therapy. By weaving together creativity, thoughtful analysis, and genuine curiosity, I help clients better understand themselves, navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Healing happens in context. Our relationships, life experiences, and environments all influence how we see ourselves and move through the world, which is why my approach is trauma-informed and grounded in understanding the whole person and not just the challenges that bring them to therapy. My work draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), psychodynamic therapy, and parts-informed work. I'm also completing training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) because I believe learning is a lifelong process and want to continue expanding the ways I can support my clients.
