Getting to know Sarah Suby-Long

Please Note Before Booking: *INSURANCE & MEDICAID NOT ACCEPTED*, however you may use credit cards or HSA/FSA cards. If a major loss has left you overwhelmed, stuck, and unsure of the best path forward, I know how hard it can be to cope and get through day-to-day life. I offer a non-judgmental space to explore and feel through these life challenges, a place to reflect, and a place to slow down. I work with high-achieving and highly sensitive adults and couples who are struggling with the pain of grief, challenging life transitions, relationships, burnout, self-esteem, or confusion about what comes next in life. You’re not alone in feeling challenged by these very human experiences, and you deserve to navigate them with support all along the way. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado. My background and training are based in systemic therapy, and our work together will take into account your emotional, relational, and spiritual self, as well as draw on your existing strengths to direct the course of therapy. My role is to hold a gentle, curious, and supportive space for you. I offer online and in-person sessions. I recognize that finding a therapist can be a daunting and overwhelming process in the beginning. I value the time and energy that you are putting into seeking the absolute best support for you and your unique goals, and would welcome an opportunity to speak in an initial free 15-minute consultation to see if we are a fit for working together. INSURANCE & MEDICAID NOT ACCEPTED, however you may use credit cards or HSA/FSA cards.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a therapist, I work from a strengths-based treatment approach, meaning that I work to help you identify and harness your unique strengths to help you achieve real change. My background and training are based in systemic family therapy, so I will view our work together in the context of your whole self: emotional, mental, physical, spiritual, and relational. I welcome all identities, family configurations, and backgrounds. Most importantly, I want to know you as an individual and hear your story. I want to provide a space for you, or for you and your partner or spouse, to feel heard and understood. If you are joining me as an individual client, you will have the opportunity to bring family members into your sessions throughout our time working together so that they can understand and help support your needs and desired changes.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Once you book your session with me, you can expect me to give you a phone call within 24 hours. During this call, we will chat for 15 minutes and I will ask you some basic background information regarding your goals for therapy and important practice policies. During this time, we will make sure that I am a good fit for you as a therapist. Afterwards, I will confirm our booking and send you some intake paperwork to complete before our session.

Sarah is a phenomenal therapist and I could not recommend her more! She makes you feel calm and at ease and is so insightful. Sarah has supported me in hard times and I so appreciate her care! She understands how to relate to more than one person and make everyone feel heard!
Sarah makes every visit worth it. She allows you to process your feelings while guiding the conversations in a productive manner. She gives you the opportunity to come to your own personal conclusions. I've been working with Sarah for over a year and I've already seen an incredible difference in myself.
I really lucked out in finding Sarah when I finally decided to go to therapy. She was able to put me at ease and join me where I was at in my therapeutic process. Now I can’t see a version of my life without therapy. Goal setting and achievement is one of the most rewarding aspects of my time with Sarah. Her nonjudgmental demeanor and helpful feedback are some of the many reasons I recommend receiving services from her.
If you are looking to work with a therapist who exudes warmth, openness, and easily creates a space that is non-judgmental, then you will be in excellent hands working with Sarah. Starting therapy can be intimidating, but Sarah's skill and authentic presence makes it easy to relax and be yourself. Sarah is skilled working with couples and creates excellent balance in the therapy room - but I would also recommend her if you're looking for an individual therapist!
