Psychotherapist

I hold compassion for those who struggle with OCD: the persistent, unwanted, unpleasant thoughts, the sometimes paralyzing anxiety, the compulsive actions, rituals, ruminations, and avoidances meant to neutralize the thoughts. I also understand how often OCD can be misunderstood, misdiagnosed, and the shame and stigma sufferers sometimes feel. Most of my work involves helping people gain control over their OCD and process traumas, including interpersonal abuse from friends, family, and coworkers (sometimes related to OCD, unfortunately), adverse childhood experiences, and bullying-past or present. I also address issues related to OCD, such as body dysmorphia, eating disorders that intersect with OCD, emetophobia, social anxiety, and generalized anxiety. I earned my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loyola Marymount University. I am currently licensed in Florida (MT 4081) and California (MFC 103044) and accept telehealth clients through a secure HIPAA-compliant video platform. In addition to OCD and anxiety treatment, I provide support to people coping with chronic illnesses such as cancer and autoimmune disease, as well as self-esteem issues, grief, and loss. I welcome neurodivergent individuals-many of my clients are autistic or have tic disorders or ADHD diagnoses alongside some of the other issues detailed above.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am an eclectic therapist, employing various modalities, tailored to a client's needs. People have described me as client-centered, caring, empathic, supportive, a good listener, a good synthesizer of information disclosed. But if it's OCD we're dealing with I can sometimes be firm (not harsh), which I think is needed if you are dealing with the OCD "beast." In other words, if we're dealing with OCD, I don't push anybody past where they are willing to go but at the same time I am motivated to help people see positive results and regain their lives, after months, and sometimes years, of wrong diagnoses and inappropriate treatment. It sometimes takes 17 years or more to get an accurate OCD diagnosis and I hate to hear of people suffering for so long with OCD when help is available.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
