Feeling unmotivated, perhaps overwhelmed, or even defeated? Let me help you. I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years and thoroughly enjoy helping people. I have a passion for empowering individuals through a strengths-based approach and wholeheartedly believe in the power of self-preservation. I consider myself a realist with an empathetic approach. In therapy, I will work with you on recognizing your potential and cultivate the force that resides inside. My commitment to you will be to provide a therapeutic safe space that allows you to engage and challenge your beliefs that will in turn enhance your life beyond measure. Range of Focus: The areas in which I can offer support and counseling are broad and range from issues like depression, anxiety, adjustment, stress, trauma, coping skills, relationship challenges, medical diagnosis acceptance, and grief. I am very much a strengths-based therapist. I love to encourage and motivate people. Alternatively, I am also a great listener and can help you formulate your thoughts and expressions. I like to challenge individuals to think outside the box and learn new ways to process situations and life events. Change talk is a huge tactic I use and encourage my clients to look within to discover the change they seek with my guidance and knowledge.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect a therapeutic relationship that is encouraging, validating, and thoughtfully challenging. I consider myself a realist with a strong empathetic approach, offering both motivation and deep listening. I work collaboratively with clients to help them recognize their strengths, uncover their potential, and develop healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and responding to life’s challenges. My approach emphasizes change talk, self-reflection, and personal accountability while remaining compassionate and client-centered. I encourage clients to look inward to discover the changes they seek, while offering guidance, structure, and support along the way. Sessions may include skill-building, emotional processing, mindfulness practices, and reframing beliefs to support growth and confidence.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

All sessions are conducted via telehealth, allowing clients to engage in therapy from the comfort and convenience of their own environment. Early sessions focus on building rapport, understanding your concerns, and identifying personal strengths and goals for therapy. I take time to learn about your experiences, stressors, and what has or has not worked for you in the past. Ongoing sessions are collaborative and tailored to your needs, often integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strengths-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, guided meditation, body-mind techniques, and health coaching strategies. I work with clients to develop practical coping tools, improve emotional awareness, and explore new ways of processing life events and transitions. Each session provides a safe space to reflect, challenge unhelpful patterns, and strengthen skills that support meaningful change and emotional well-being beyond therapy.
