Hi there, I'm Sarah! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in grief and loss. I offer a compassionate, person-centered space to make sense of what has changed, process the emotions that come with loss, and find ways to move forward without feeling like you have to leave your grief behind. My focus I work with teens and adults navigating grief and loss, including the loss of a loved one, relationship, identity, or significant life chapter. I also support anxiety, depression, ADHD, low self-worth, and life transitions, especially when loss brings feelings of sadness, anger, guilt, or numbness. My approach I use a person-centered, trauma-informed approach grounded in ACT and mindfulness. With grief, I don’t believe the goal is to “move on” or stop hurting. Instead, I help clients make space for what they’re feeling, understand how loss has changed their lives, and find ways to move forward while staying connected to what matters to them. My communication style I want therapy to be a place where you can show up exactly as you are that day and know you are in a space that is safe and supportive. I’m warm, genuine, and comfortable sitting with difficult emotions. I’ll listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and offer guidance or tools when they feel useful rather than forcing a particular way of coping. My journey to mental healthcare My journey to becoming a therapist was influenced by a life-changing loss I experienced that showed me how difficult grief can be to navigate without support. My own experience gave me a lasting empathy for people facing loss and moved me to create the kind of space where others can feel safe, supported, and understood as they grieve. My goals for you I don’t believe therapy goals need to be about becoming a different person or “getting over” something. We’ll talk about what you’re hoping will feel and be different and what matters most to you, then work together to identify realistic steps.
