Getting to know Sarah Weissman

I help adults find calm, clarity, and confidence in the middle of life’s stress and uncertainty. As a licensed clinical social worker with over seven years of experience, I provide a warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth approach focused on helping clients feel more connected to themselves and more supported in their daily lives. Many of the clients I work with are used to holding everything together on the outside while quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, burnout, relationship stress, trauma, or emotional overwhelm. They often feel stuck in cycles of perfectionism, self-criticism, masking, people-pleasing, or survival mode. I also specialize in supporting neurodivergent clients, including those navigating ADHD, sensory overwhelm, and chronic stress. As someone who is neurodivergent myself, I understand how exhausting it can feel to constantly push yourself while trying to meet the demands of everyday life. I aim to create a space where clients feel understood without judgment or pressure to perform. I also work closely with clients navigating pregnancy, postpartum experiences, parenting stress, identity shifts, and the emotional weight of caregiving. Being a parent deeply shapes the way I approach this work and helps me connect with the complexity and vulnerability that can come with caring for others while trying to care for yourself too. My approach is insight-oriented, practical, and tailored to each individual. Therapy with me is a mix of reflection, skill building, and genuine conversation designed to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen coping skills, improve relationships, and create meaningful, sustainable change. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Michigan. I also encourage clients to review their insurance benefits and potential out-of-pocket costs before scheduling so there are fewer surprises along the way.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is collaborative and down to earth. I value honesty, curiosity, and respect, and I aim to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are. You do not have to know what to say or have everything figured out. We work together to slow things down, make sense of what feels overwhelming, and find steps that actually fit your life. I believe real change happens through consistent work and genuine connection. I encourage my clients to be open, reflective, and patient with the process. Some sessions feel emotional, others feel practical, and both are part of meaningful growth. I understand how vulnerable it can feel to start therapy. My goal is to help you feel supported and grounded while developing the insight and tools to handle whatever comes your way. I ask that clients come prepared to engage in the process, attend sessions consistently, and share openly so we can make the most of our time together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first sessions we will explore what is bringing you in, what you hope to feel differently, and what has or has not worked in the past. We set goals together and move at a pace that feels comfortable but intentional. Throughout therapy we look at both your present patterns and the past relationships or attachment experiences that may shape them. I use attachment theory to help you understand your emotional needs and how you connect with others, while also cultivating greater self compassion and acceptance. I draw from traditional talk therapy along with CBT, ACT, DBT skills, mindfulness, and parts work to build awareness, strengthen coping, and support growth. Clients often describe our sessions as reflective, practical, and emotionally grounding.

Sarah is easy to talk to and I never felt judged, no matter what I was going through. I felt like I could be open and honest with her, which isn't always easy for me. She helped me work through my anxiety in a way that I could actually apply in real life. She's warm, easy to talk to and genuinely cares.
Working with Sarah has been such a different experience from any other therapist I’ve seen. She made me feel comfortable and safe in a way that no one else has. From the very beginning, I could tell she genuinely cared and took the time to understand me. I’ve never felt so supported and understood in therapy before, and that’s made a huge difference in how much I’ve been able to open up and grow. If you’re looking for a therapist who really makes you feel seen, Sarah is the one.
