Psychotherapist
CA
Hi, I’m Sarita, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California, South Carolina, and (soon) Tennessee. My path into this work started in high school when I read a book about adolescents navigating rehab and suicide. It was an eye-opening experience that sparked a deep interest in psychology, human nature, and how our minds and environments shape our identities. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of seeing clients across a wide range of diagnoses and life challenges discover their own resilience, and that continues to inspire me every day. I specialize in supporting adults, teens, and couples who are facing challenges such as substance abuse and addiction, depression, anxiety, stress, relationship struggles, and the unique pressures of first responder work. I welcome clients who may be skeptical about therapy or need time before talking about difficult topics and clients who are ready to dive in. In therapy, I focus on collaborating with you to achieve your goals. My approach is integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic and Gestalt methods, Trauma-Informed care, and Solution-Focused techniques. When requested, I also utilize faith-based approaches. I take the time to prepare for our sessions and stay current on evidence-based practices because I want every session to feel valuable and applicable to your daily life. I also create space for honest feedback. If something isn’t working for you, I want to know so we can adjust. My hope is that our work together will leave you feeling empowered and eventually confident enough to not need me. Outside of my professional life, I’m an adventurer at heart. I’ve been fortunate to explore different parts of the world and even lived in South Africa for a time. I grew up in South Carolina and have attended both the University of Southern California and the University of South Carolina.
