Feeling anxious, on edge, emotionally overwhelmed, or disconnected—even though you’re functioning day to day? Many people I work with are doing their best to keep life moving forward while quietly carrying stress, sadness, or past experiences that still affect how they feel, think, and relate to others. On the outside, things may look “fine,” but internally it can feel exhausting to hold everything together. I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, and trauma-related concerns. Many of my clients are thoughtful, capable people who are functioning day to day but feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected inside. Some are navigating the effects of specific difficult experiences, while others have lived with long-term stress, instability, or pressure that continues to impact how they feel and respond. For adults, this may look like persistent worry, low mood, emotional numbness, irritability, burnout, or feeling constantly on edge. For children and teens, concerns often show up as anxiety, mood changes, behavioral challenges, difficulty concentrating, or big emotions that feel hard to manage. Parents frequently seek support when they sense something isn’t quite right but aren’t sure how to help. My work is grounded in a trauma-informed perspective that recognizes how past and ongoing experiences shape emotional responses, nervous system regulation, and relationships. I believe therapy should feel supportive, respectful, and collaborative—not overwhelming or rushed. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, build emotional resilience, and feel more steady, connected, and empowered in their daily lives.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapy style is warm, grounded, and collaborative. I’m an active therapist who listens closely, asks thoughtful questions, and helps clients make sense of patterns while also working toward practical, meaningful change. Clients often describe me as supportive but honest—I won’t rush you or your child, but I also won’t leave you feeling unsure about where therapy is going. I work from an individualized, trauma-informed approach and draw from many evidence-based therapies including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based strategies, and trauma-informed care. With children, I also use play-focused therapy and sand tray therapy to support expression and emotional regulation in developmentally appropriate ways. Therapy with me is not about reliving painful experiences or “fixing” what’s wrong. Instead, we focus on understanding what’s happening now, building awareness, and developing tools that support emotional regulation, resilience, and healthier ways of responding to stress. Sessions are paced carefully, guided by your goals, and adjusted along the way to ensure therapy feels safe, supportive, and useful.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Early sessions focus on getting to know you (or your child), understanding current concerns, and identifying goals for therapy. You don’t need to have everything figured out—many clients start therapy feeling unsure of where to begin. We’ll take time to clarify what’s feeling hardest right now and what you’re hoping will feel different. A typical session may include talking through recent experiences, noticing emotional or behavioral patterns, and learning skills to help manage anxiety, depression, or trauma responses. Depending on your needs, sessions may involve practical coping tools, cognitive strategies, mindfulness exercises, or values-based work. For children, sessions may include play-based activities or sand tray work to support emotional expression and regulation. Throughout the process, we check in regularly about what feels helpful and adjust as needed. Therapy is collaborative—you’re never expected to share more than feels manageable. The goal is steady progress toward feeling more regulated, confident, and connected, both inside and in your daily life.
