Getting to know Sayra Besner

Maybe you left. Maybe you got left. Maybe you're still lying awake at 2 a.m. trying to decide whether to go. Either way, the life you built yourself around has stopped existing, and nobody handed you instructions for what comes next. I'm Sayra Besner, LCSW, a divorce recovery therapist and the creator of the Sayra C Method. I'm also a divorced mom of two who walked away from a beautiful house with my clothes in garbage bags and no plan. I had the clinical training and still had no roadmap. So I built one. I work with women rebuilding their confidence and identity after divorce, men who handled everything and felt nothing until the quiet got loud, and teens 14 and up caught between two homes. Different stories, same truth: the role you organized your life around ended, and you get to decide who you become next. Insight is rarely the missing piece. Most of my clients can explain exactly what went wrong. What helps is working in the right order: where you actually are, the patterns you inherited, what you truly want, boundaries that hold up on a hard night, and then what comes next. I'm direct, warm and practical. I'll gently call you out when you're avoiding something, cheer you on when you're ready to move, and yes, we will probably laugh. You are not broken. You are a capable adult in a hard chapter, and this chapter does not get to write the rest of your story. Virtual sessions available across Florida. Miami Beach based, with a Boca Raton office opening soon.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My work follows the Sayra C Method, a step-by-step framework I developed for rebuilding after divorce and major life transitions. It blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to quiet the anxious 2 a.m. spirals, Solution-Focused Therapy to stop replaying the past and start building what's next, and Strength-Based work, because you have already survived every one of your hardest days. You leave sessions with insight and a clear plan.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

You don't need your whole story ready or a clean explanation of what went wrong. If you can tell me what this week has been like, that's enough to start. I won't grade your decision to stay or leave. We'll focus on where you are now, what you want, and the first practical steps forward. Many clients leave the first session feeling clearer than when they arrived.
